There is an increasing level of concern within the United States to produce a generation who embodies the required technical and professional skills to meet the growing demands of our increasingly complex 21st Century global economy. In essence, employees are not equipped with the necessary skills to complete the jobs available; stifling economic growth at the local, state, national and global levels. While this ‘skills gap’ is prevalent in all industries, its deep impact is most felt within manufacturing and construction, So that I can gain a post-secondary competitive advantage, I have studied to be technically, and practically skilled within the fabrication field (welding, electrical, construction, plumbing, etc.).
